February Giveaway: World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars
There is no better way than to kick off our next week’s coverage of Big Ant Studios’ latest sprint car racer, World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars for the Xbox 360 than a little giveaway contest.
The World of Outlaws series is the premier sanctioning body of dirt track, winged sprint car racing. It may be most known for the fantastic crashes that have seen some of the cars flip over the retaining wall. Next to drag racing, it may be the most dangerous sport for racers and spectators alike, but it is certainly exciting and fun to watch.
Developer Ratbag first brought the World of Outlaws to life with the similarly titled World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars for the PS2 back in 2002. The game achieved moderate success and was generally well received among the fan base. While this is Big Ant Studios first go-around with the license, it is by no means a slouch in the field of sprint car racing, having released Sprint Cars: Road to Knoxville and Sprint Cars 2: Showdown at Eldora for the PS2 in the last few years.
THQ will be shipping the game soon for the Xbox 360 at the generous price of $19.99. As of now a PS3 release is being planned as a PSN download. A few of our lucky readers can hold onto that twenty as THQ and Big Ant were gracious enough to hook us up with a few copies to give away to our loyal fans. The rules are about as easy as can be. Reply to this post and explain why you want a copy of World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars (remember to enter your e-mail in the comment form). The two best answers win, with a third prize being a random draw of all the entrants and commentators on all of our World of Outlaws posts next week. Contest ends Thursday, Feb. 11 at midnight pacific time.
Watch for more launch coverage next week. I’ll be reviewing the game and showcasing the features as well as diving into the online play. Also watch for a Q&A with THQ’s Peter Armstrong and Big Ant’s Ross Symons and, of course, our contest winners.
I want the game because my birthday is on the 12 and me and my dad are car fanatics and getting this game would really be a good present for the whole family.
I. like most people in this world, live my fantasies out through video games. Many gamers live out their fantasies of being an elite soldier fighting off alien swarms, protecting the human race from extinction. Some live out their rockstar fantasies, screaming Guns N’ Roses lyrics into a microphone. I use my video games to live out my fantasy as the greatest race car driver to ever live. My digital self is an eight-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion and a three-time Formula One champion. I won rally racing events and conquered the streets of Rome in a Dodge Viper. Now, I want to conquer the World of Outlaws. I’ve won every championship, but the World of Outlaws. Winning this game would give me the power to become the greatest digital driver on the face of the Earth.
I want a copy of this game because I’ve always been a dirt track fan. Growing up along the Indiana/Ohio border I’ve watched several races at Eldora and some of the other smaller 1/4 mile bullrings in the area. I love the smell of the exhaust and the dirt you can taste when you sit in the corners. I love the old saying “If you ain’t got dirt in your teeth, you ain’t racing!”
I enjoyed the first game, it was a fun racer, especially for someone like me who isn’t as up on this racing series. I’d like to learn more about it and by playing more of the games, I’d learn
If it’s as addictive as the first game, it’ll be racing heaven!
I need this game because I am a real sprint car racer, done belive me search my name
The “Running Blind” achievement sold me.
Well, that the potential of this series’ excellent gameplay coupled with the potential for alot of online fun via Live.
I use to play the Ratbag DTR series to the point of addiction. Attending dirt tracks is what I do. I have a seven year old son who is slowly learing the ranks, and I’d love to play the game with him.
the last game was sweet i am 12 years and i go to every dirt track in ohio. me and my dad have been waiting for game for months we been to every king for the past 3 years and would be super happy for copy.
I am a diehard dirt racing fan and racing sim gamer. I have owned all of the Ratbag Dirt Track Racing games, Saturday Night Speedway and the two recent PS2 releases. I can’t wait to add this to my collection. I will have to take over my sons new Xbox.
I want a copy of this game because I’ve always been a dirt track fan
i want a copy of this game because i love sprint car racing and every i travel to all the big sprint car races in north America
i want a copy of this game because i love sprint car racing and every i travel to all the big sprint car races in north America
who doesnt like to listen to johnny Gibson the annoucer to give the race call or to put the fans in frenzy “you want the best you got the often inmated never duplicated THE World of Outlaws”
I love sprint car racing i am ubsessed with it i go to my local short tracks all the time and when the outlaws come in town i go there as well sprint cars are like something i need to live. i love eating dirt, love the sounds and everything about it so i should have the game that is based on that love of mine.
I want the game because it just came out im in the middle of a blizzard and gamestop is closed!!!Also sprintcars are my life i grew up watching Fred Rahmer tear it up at williams grove and lincoln everyweekend and alls ive been talking about is how i want this game only problem is im in philly for college and cant find it anywhere!!!
I need a copy of the game because I have been racing mini sprints and full size sprint cars since 1994, this is my off season time and I need to start practicing for the 2010 season. I own all the sprint car games ever made and they all help to hone my driving skills. I would really hope that this game can help take my skills to the next level. Some of my racing videos can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/user/koolkerry?feature=chclk I hope you strongly consider me for a copy because I’m starting to have withdrawls from not racing all winter long. Please help me get my fix!!!
Thanks,
Kerry Grabill
Well I am at college right now and basically I am broke. I probably wont be able to get the game until the summer, that is if I can find a job. So, winning the game wouldnt really save me money because I dont have any, but it would be hugely appreciated!
I would love to get this game. i currently have lplayed the ratbag dtr version till i wore it out. when i was coming out of some personal demons and addiction, i found my local track, Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA, to be my sanctuary. I finally was a part of something fun and productive. I started by attending every single race that was held there. By just keeping my face around, i slowly worked through the ranks from just a fanatic of dirt racing, now i actually work there on the Fire Safety Crew. Keeping the very drivers from the video game safe when they are at my track. This is a true honor. I have been clean for 8 years, i owe this to hard work, and the family atmosphere of dirt track racing as a whole and everyone i have met and loved at the track. they have made sure to keep an eye on my and if i fall, they are there to pick me up. My son is 5 yrs old and lives, breathes, eats sprint car racing, me and him enjoy it together at home. we watch videos of the races constantly. Please think of me and him when you are giving away those games.
Thank You For Your Time,
David Thomas
I want this game because im a huge sprintcar fan and would love to have this game. I currently have WoO 2002 and am an owner of A ps3 and I sadly have to wait for the release.
I would love to have this game. I love dirt track racing. If i get this game my dad would actually play a game with me for once. He never does. He always comes up with an excuse. But if I had this game he would play it with me since it is dirt racing.
First off, i want this game because i play Nascar 09 every single day of my life, and they’re planning on shutting down the ea servers for the game… not to mention that they never came out with a Nascar 10. Secondly,I race real cars on a weekly basis, along with my dad and both grandpas, sooo as you can tell i’m into the whole racing deal. And Finally, weather i win this game or not, you will see my name at the top of the leaderboards within 2 months. GARUNTEED. So why give it away to someone who’s gonna play this game for a week and let it sit around for months? Hook me up with this game and we’ll show these kids how to dirt race. well, thanks for the chance. PEACE OUT MANGSTAS
I`ld like to win a copy of this game because my 14yr old son (George) is going to race a 600 micro sprint at Ray Evernhams dirt track, East Lincoln Speedway. He`s been racing since he was 8 yrs old BUT never on dirt. With me being out of work since last sept, times are hard to make ends meet. So any practice he can get before he drives his REAL sprint car would help. My cousins Dave & Dale Blaney both race sprint cars too!
I want this game…because I’m absolutely love dirt track racing. I grew up watching the likes of Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Stan Fox, and a whole mess of other guys at the Action Track. Sure, they never touched the World of Outlaws, but there’s been many World of Outlaws races I’ve seen. They give me chills. I guess that’s because I always wanted to be a racecar driver. It would be a hell of a lot cooler than being a college student at this current moment in my life. I mean, college is lame, I don’t know what to do with my life, so…why not be a professional simulation racecar driver…cause, that’s the life right?
I would love a copy of this game because as I’ve been growing older (mid 20’s) and start to grow more and more distant from my father. I realize that there are few things we end up having in common. But one of the main things we’ve done over the years is visit dirt races around the midwest and he was the one who taught me how to play video games. We’ve been playing the Big Ant racing series it was released for PC years ago and have been getting the new ones as they come out. It would be great to play this updated version of the game and relive some great memories.
Hey i want this game so i can give it to the hospital so the kids can play it
I collect games from all over the world so i can give it to some one who needs it
Hospital – Orphans Home center and even the Prison – Yeah i know but hey they all so need somting to do right
I allready gave them
60 Inch TV Full HD – PS3 – Xbox 360 – N Wii and a lot of games
I want the game because my father and I both race dirt modifieds. He used to race NASCAR, WOO, and ARCA as well and it is always fun to compete for fast time and set-ups with him on the game. Especially when the computer game was released my years ago, that was a 2am to 4am competition between us.
I’d like this game for a good friend. He lost his leg in a car accident and loved driving standard vehicles and was also into dirt mods. He was a vendor at a local track near where he lived. He now plays vids to keep himself busy as it’s hard for him to adjust to his prostetic leg. He was very active in sports, mainly hockey. Thank you kindly for giving someone a chance to get this game and good luck to all that enter.
I’m not sure that I am worthy of a free game after reading some of these moving comments. I too shared great memories with my father at the dirt track sprint car races. I too travel all around the country to watch winged and non winged sprints. I sponsor sprint car races and produce sprint car themed billet hitch covers. I love this sport.
However I would rather see one of these kids get the free game so they can (re)connect with there siblings/father and bond over some good old fashioned dirt track racing. My brothers and I would have endless battles playing the older PC version. I would think the sport as a whole needs more kids getting entertained by the exciting sport of sprint car racing.
Please consider the kids first, they are the future and we need them involved to keep sprint car racing alive.
Thank you,
John D. Mershon
I am worthy of the winning game in order to give to my son so he can enjoy the rush of the greatest sport in this country and that is dirt track open wheel racing. I race a sprint car also like some and this would give my son the enjoyment that i also get out of the sport. until he is old enough to get his own machine to power around the mighty oval dirt.
Thanks for your consideration and god bless.

I’d love to get a copy of this game. Several of us local racers get together every winter and a few non drivers and have a racing tournament. This is a thrill for the non drivers because there’s a couple the beat us every time. Any way this would be an awesome game to add to our racing tournament collection!
I really want this game because I can’t buy it. If I buy another racing game or anything racing related for that matter, my fiancee’ will kill me. So I figure, maybe if I can win this game, It will be innocent, I won’t get in trouble & I can tell her to go watch Desperate Housewives. It’s a win-win!
This game I want so,
I just want to mash the gas and go,
beads of sweat running down my eye,
oh how I’d love, not to have to buy,
to this I would be so greatful,
mud, I could eat a platefull,
racing is just in my blood,
this game, it can’t be a dud,
drive it like you stole it,
who knows, can I control it,
for this I will have to wait and see,
please o please just pick me……
I want this game because I really am I big time race fan, I go to the races weekly(At Gas City I-69 Speedway. When Gas isn’t running We travel 3hrs to Eldora or to go east to Oakshade. I own almost every dirt Racin game there is (SprintCars2002,Sat.NightSpeedway,SprintCarRoadtoEldora/Knoxville,All the Dirt Track Racing games,Rfactor/DirtFactor, I even bought TOCA Race Driver3 because there’s 2 sprint car tracks. I really am a huge fan of the WoO, met and even got my all time favortie drivers autographs Steve Kinser & Jac Haudenschild. Thanks for this opportunity
I really need this game. Last time I was fortunate enough to go to a dirt track race, I didnt know that I should have worn a cap and goggles. I wear contacts and by the middle of the night my eyes were so red, I couldnt see a thing. I didnt think I would ever get all the mud outta my hair. Even through all that, I had a blast and loved it and hope to go again soon. I need the game to relive it, this time without the eye problems. Besides, Im broke from buying my new Super Saints Wardrobe.

OK guys, I let it go a few more hours than I intended. No more entries after this post. I’ll notify the winners soon.
