Digging deeper into the NCAA Basketball 10 rosters
If your interested in the latest surrounding the PS3 and Xbox 360 roster files, I recommend heading to the operationsports forums. I was able to break from my busy sked to help the PS3 community roster with the Atlantic Sun conference and it looks like the rosters are about halfway done.
Opening up the PS3 roster file for NCAA Basketball 10 using wordpad, I found a few interesting things…
Namely, historical teams. They were ready to be put in the game apparently – but aren’t included in the final product due to the recent Ed O’Bannon lawsuit. All 64 historical teams from last year are listed in the roster file.
Even more interesting though (outside of Chaminade being in there – but not able to edit in-game) is the inclusion of ten “test teams” and a team called “CampusHoops”. I wonder if these test teams can be used to add teams like Kennesaw State into the game. Also there were values for teams referred to as “wipe” (for example, Northern Arizona had a listing for “NIU niwipe_NorthernArizonaLumberjacks”. I wonder how these are tied into the ESPN and CBS “wipes” for each team and if newly added teams down the road could easily have their wipes included in the game without needing a patch.
Anyway, just me poking around…
