2K10 irons out more connectivity issues
At some point I think 2K is just going to need to blow up and start anew in regards to their online multiplayer.
The NBA 2K series has had gamebreaking problems for two years running while MLB 2K has gotten decidely more inept online the last three seasons.
Kotaku notes that the patch for the Xbox 360 version of MLB 2K10 has been greenlighted for certification. As for the PS3, I stand with Owen’s comments when he states that “it’d be poor form to publish no gameplay-refining patch at all for the PS3 base”. We all know that MLB 2K10 had zero competition on Microsoft’s box and has probably suffered on the PS3 against a system-seller in MLB 10: The Show. What I say to that is, why release the game on the PS3 then – if your not going to support it down the line? This particular situation is quite similar to last year’s PS3 release.
That said, the majority of 360 users should be seeing a patch that supposedly fixes online play (no official word) and I’m guessing some gameplay as well. Meanwhile, I’ll be looking extra close at the PS3 version of MLB 2K10 this week as I work on my final reviews.
